Teaching the Australian Curriculum: Excellence and innovation in the classroom.

ACER invites you to see, hear, talk and learn from the best in the profession.

ACER presents this inaugural "Excellence in Professional Practice" conference for teachers. This conference celebrates excellence in teachers’ professional practice by drawing together teachers from across Australia to observe, listen to, talk with, share expertise and learn from one another.

We believe that teachers learn the most powerful lessons from other teachers. This conference is designed to showcase best practice in Teaching the Australian Curriculum from classrooms across the country.

Education authorities, professional associations and peak bodies will be invited to nominate teachers whose classroom practice demonstrates excellence and innovation in teaching the Australian Curriculum.

A full program of nominated presentations will be available in November 2012 on this website.

The conference will combine:
inspiring keynote presentations,
workshops
poster presentations demonstrating and discussing leading classroom practice,
casual and formal networking opportunities including ‘birds of a feather’ sessions.


This teacher focused conference will support collaboration and knowledge sharing in a friendly, informal and lively atmosphere.

Educating Harvard, MIT — and the world!


Every year, bright students around the world dream of a chance to debate ideas in a Harvard classroom or conduct experiments in an MIT laboratory — an opportunity to learn from some of the greatest minds in fields from the humanities to engineering to the social sciences.

Soon, as leaders of both universities announced today, all an eager student will need is a modem and a mouse.

EdX, a new online education platform, will draw on the faculty, research, and institutional backing of both universities to provide Harvard andMassachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) courses to users around the world. The partnership will not only build on both universities’ ongoing work in online education, but will provide a treasure trove of data on how students learn and how to teach them most effectively.

The International Academic Forum in partnership with Waseda University (Japan), Birkbeck University of London (UK), The National Institute of Education (Singapore), The National University of Tainan (Taiwan), Lincoln University (UK), the Hong Kong Institute of Education, and its global partners is proud to announce the Fourth Annual Asian Conference on Education, to be held from October 24 - 28 2012, in Osaka, Japan.

ABSTRACT DEADLINE EXTENDED TO SEPTEMBER 1, 2012

The Asian Conference on Education is an interdisciplinary international conference that invites academics and independent scholars and researchers from around the world to meet and exchange the latest ideas and views in a forum encouraging respectful dialogue. Since its inception in 2009, ACE has welcomed over one thousand academics and practitioners to its annual Osaka event. The 2012 conference will afford the opportunity for renewing old acquaintances, making new contacts, and networking across higher education. Academics working in Japan and Asia will be encouraged to forge working relationships with each other, as well as with colleagues from Europe and the US, facilitating partnerships across borders.
